Ohnmacht-Trilogy Part I
little ideas
“little ideas”
is the first part
of a trilogy of 3 × 3 songs
that revolve around the German
concept of Ohnmacht. Unlike the English
term “powerlessness,” the German term
Ohnmacht has a broader range of meanings.
In German, Ohnmacht means both the
loss of consciousness and all control
over one's own muscles, as well as
a situation or state in which one
has lost influence over one's
circumstances and the course
of events, or at least feels
that one has lost it.
My exploration of this topic stems from my personal situation, but above all from our shared political and social situation.
But why suddenly songs and not a format that approaches this topic critically in an abstract way, so to speak?
Unlike when we hear abstract sounds when it comes to the human voice, we are all sound specialists in recognising, perceiving, and understanding the nuances and undertones in the sound of a voice.
that's why I chose songs.
